STRENGTH & INTENT IS DIFFERENT: HERE'S HOW

HEALTH & FITNESS CAN BE INCREDIBLY CONFUSING

In today’s society, everyone has something to say about it. Countless research studies, educational handouts, blog posts, mainstream media tabloids, and self-proclaimed gurus all have their philosophy on how to be healthy.

Anyone with a phone and a social media account can create TikToks and tweets saying whatever they want about the best way to work out, the right foods to eat, the foods not to eat, the habits they should adopt, and (above all else) the products you should buy (mostly from them).

And the worst part, everything that’s said is contradictory:

“Eat this, but not that"

“Don’t eat this, except for…”

“Work out seven days a week”

“Don’t work out at all”

“Take these supplements”

“X is bad for you”

“Actually, X is good for you”

There’s so much misinformation out there, so many bad fitness trends, fad diets, and programs to follow.

Maybe we try it, and it works for us. But what if we’re miserable while we do it?

Or what if it stops working for us

Or what if it works for us and an “expert” tells us it’s wrong and we should do something else instead?

What if nothing we try works? Or we don’t stick it out long enough to see if it actually works?

THE CYCLE PERPETUATES, AND WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO

With so much information about health and fitness out there, and so much of it being misleading and contradictory, it’s hard to know what to do or where to start.

We want to be healthy, look a certain way, be strong, be competitive in our sports, and live an enjoyable lifestyle. How is that possible when there are so many different diets, workout programs, gym equipment, and sources of information on which of these things are best?

REALITY CHECK: FITNESS/NUTRITION DOSESN'T HAVE TO BE COMPLICATED

Mainstream media gives a false perception that being healthy and fit is a complicated process that requires a rigid diet and exercise plan, and buying countless products and guides.

The reality is, nutrition and fitness are some of the most well-researched sciences in the world. Based on decades of studies and refinement in our understanding of how the human body (and mind) work, we’ve learned TWO core principles:

  • Some fundamental principles apply to everyone

  • Every individual is different in their needs based on their goals

The fundamental principles that apply to every one make a lot of sense. Water and food are necessary for survival, and are part of the human experience. Exercise is (with the exception of certain and rare diseases) one of the best things we can do to optimize our health.

The individual differences are where it gets more unique, and where it can get more tricky.

THATS WHERE STRENGTH & INTENT COMES IN
